In 1961, entrepreneur, Wade Brenner, established a small plastic laminate counter top business in Fowler, California. In it’s infancy...wife, Jean, and children, Susan and Steve... were often accompanying him in his 12 to 18 hour days, often a part of any new business venture. [Editors note: Steve was 7 years old, then.] "Wade’s Modern Plastics," was the name my father had chosen. The business did well, and out grew several buildings. The first being the present sight of "A-mart Supermarket," in Fowler. The second in a building that no longer exists just to the southeast of our present location. The third move proved not to be a wise move...and a decision to invest in land, and build for the future was my father’s dream.
